Some new keel designs fresh from my Pop and ready to foil.
I shaped a mini simmons today. This is probably the most difficult board I’ve shaped. First because the blank was 2 foot longer than this size in order to get the thickness and rockers. That meant plenty of time to foil out the board from a block. Secondly because of all the intersecting curves. But it came out so nice. There are some custom marine-ply keels from John Cherry on the way.
These are the remaining three Saturdays / Chandelier Collaboration boards. They came out really nice. The idea of these started eight months ago. It’s hard to believe they are finally ready. Saturdays and Chandelier have some party plans in the works so keep an eye out.
Another order ready to shape is this Mini Simmons. I’ve been wanting to shape one of these for a while.
Next order ready to shape this Saturday. I’m adding my own tapered stringer to get some extra flex out of the tail.
This is a stock board for 583 Surf in Fire Island, NY. 8’6″ with a fat belly on the bottom from nose to tail. Ready for some color.
This is one of the Saturdays / Chandelier Collaboration boards. We rushed this one through and the others are in the works. I’ve been hearing rumors of a kick-off party for them sometime this summer in NYC or out East.
Picked up some blanks last night with the team transportation captain, Jimmy Campbell. There’s alot foam to mow. Two SUP’s and then an 8’6 mini ordered from 583 Surf.
After a year using this space, I finally found the time to paint. Two blanks glued up and ready to shaping over the weekend. Ian and Rich you’re up!
